Composers have always leaned in to hear the whispers of literature, and the written word listens for its own reflection in music. As long as stories are told and poems are written, composers will find inspiration in the written word. In this concert, ensemble neo will play music that has the written word as its model. Although the lyrics in these pieces are neither sung nor spoken, their meaning is buried deep within the sounding music.
